Technical Information Specialist

Varonis is a pioneer in data security and analytics, specializing in software for data protection, threat detection and response, and compliance. Varonis protects enterprise data by analyzing data activity, perimeter telemetry, and user behavior; prevents disaster by locking down sensitive data; and efficiently sustains a secure state with automation.

The Technical Information Specialist is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle. This is an interesting and challenging role, which also involves independent work, a dynamic and fascinating working environment, and the opportunity to work closely with the Varonis product managers as a member of the Product Management team.

 

Responsibilities

·       Characterization of regulation requirements, and regulated data

·       Finding, sorting, and analyzing data sources, obtaining testing data

·       Determining data accuracy and relevance

·       Research of identifiers, definition of regex and data patterns

·       Performing data tests and evaluating research results for product development

·       Managing multiple projects, conflicting priorities, and tight deadlines

·       Contributing to the entire product life cycle from strategic planning through tactical activities and all the way to the launch of the product/version  

·       Collaborating with customers to ensure understanding of product and developing needs

·       Working closely with R&D, QA, and Support teams

·       Analyzing market trends and competitive landscape

 

Requirements

·       Prior experience as a data engineer, information specialist, or technical data analyst – an advantage     

·       Strong research and analytical skills: highly analytical; proven ability to research, gather and analyze data from multiple sources and convert the conclusions to functional requirements – a must!

·       Effective organization and time management skills – a must!

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present and analyze technical information and strategies

·       Fast learner with a quick mind

·       Experience in writing and using regexes and working with parsing algorithms

·       Knowledge in how SW development processes work (definition of requirements, design, coding, testing) and experience with Product Management software tools (TFS, Jira, …)

·       Familiarity with standards/regulations such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, ITGC, SOX, GDPR - an advantage

·       Knowledge in the fields (one or more) of Data Classification, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Entity Extraction, Text Analysis – an advantage

·       Technical experience in an R&D team - an advantage

·       Experience in Writing technical documentation – an advantage

·       Product management skills/experience – an advantage

·       Relevant B.Sc. degree; MBA – an advantage

·       Experience in Information Security domain – a big advantage
