Information Specialist - Data Classification, Regulations & Compliance

Varonis Systems is the leader in unstructured and semi-structured data governance software. Our goal is to protect companies’ most sensitive information from insider threats and cyberattacks. We do this by allowing organizations to analyze, secure, manage, and migrate their volumes of unstructured data, which is any human-generated data that is within a company’s environment.

The Information Specialist is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle. This is an interesting and challenging role, which also involves independent work, a dynamic and fascinating working environment, and the opportunity to work closely with the Varonis product managers as a member of the Product Management team.

Responsibilities

·          Finding, sorting, and analyzing data sources, obtaining testing data, determining data accuracy and relevance, performing data tests and evaluating research results for product development

·         Analyzing market trends and competitive landscape

·         Managing multiple projects, conflicting priorities, and tight deadlines

·         Contributing to the entire product life cycle from strategic planning through tactical activities and all the way to the launch of the product/version  

·         Working closely with R&D, QA, and Support teams

Requirements

·         Prior experience as an information specialist – an advantage     

·         Strong research and analytical skills: highly analytical; proven ability to research, gather and analyze data from multiple sources and convert the conclusions to functional requirements – a must!

·         Effective organization and time management skills – a must!

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present and analyze technical information and strategies

·         Fast learner with a quick mind

·         Familiarity with standards/regulations such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, ITGC, SOX, GDPR  - an advantage

·         Knowledge in the fields (one or more) of Data Classification, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Entity Extraction, Text Analytics, Data Loss Prevention – an advantage

·         Technical experience in an R&D team - an advantage

·         Relevant B.Sc. degree; MBA – an advantage

·        Experience in Information Security domain – big advantage
