Library Studies and Information Science
Library studies and information science encompass all aspects of the information transfer cycle – from the creation of information through its representation, transmission, acquisition, organization, management, regulation, preservation, dissemination, and utilization. In the last quarter of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century, new technologies drove change in the field; the mass adoption of computers and the internet has revolutionized human society, changing the way we consume and utilize information. Today, it is impossible to separate library studies and information science from the developing technology, and every technological innovation is implemented immediately in the library realm.
